F3 Exhibition News and Details of the VFC prize draw

MD5 received positive responses from the attendees at the F3 Exhibition held in Gloucestershire on the 6th -8th November 2007.

We had huge interest and many positive comments on our VFC forensic program as well as MD5?s other products and services. There was also great interest in the forthcoming iPhone examiner.

As part of our exhibition stand we offered a free prize draw to win a copy of our highly acclaimed VFC. The winner was drawn by Margret (MD5 Office Manager) on the 12th November 2007. We would like to congratulate the winner, John Sharland of Devon & Cornwall Constabulary.

MD5 would like to thank all participants for their interest and the F3 committee for allowing us to attend. We look forward to meeting you all again next year.

MD5 releases product to protect the e-safety of children

MD5 have recently added another forensic product to their portfolio. Forensic Software is unique and specifically aimed at the educational sector. The program's objective is to help prevent and monitor anti-social, bullying and criminal behaviour in schools.

The e-safety of children in schools is a key area for concern and a huge responsibility for the Head and Governors of any educational establishment. ICT resources are a powerful learning tool and the explosion of technology is hugely positive but comes with new risks.

The Every Child Matters agenda demands the safe-keeping of children. Directives emerging from government agencies are urging schools to look at not only filtering solutions, but also ways of monitoring and tracking what children are doing when using their school's ICT technology.

A recent deployment of this software was to Oakbank School. Commenting on Forensic Software, ICT Manager Mike Hanscomb said "No other program can give us such a complete picture. Forensic Software is also a great deterrent, letting users know that they will always be caught". Mary Hide, Marden Lodge School, was also impressed. She said "This software quickly identifies any e-bullying or predatory questions in e-mails or message boards".

This latest software enables MD5 to extend their knowledge and services to the educational sector that they already provide to law enforcement and corporate clients.

Positive Feedback Received

MD5's latest product solution received industry acclaim when it was revealed at the 10th Annual Fraud World Conference held in London between the 26th - 27th September 2007.

System Information Security(SIS), the latest product added to MD5's solutions portfolio received favourable comments from fraud prevention and security market leaders at the Fraud World Conference. Many were astounded with the product's features and the customisation that this internal monitoring tool was capable of. One industry expert commented 'you have the right product at the right time in the industry, I'm sure it will be a great success'.

Commenting on this positive feedback John Green, Managing Director of MD5, further emphasises the need for such a tool within all industry sectors.

"Most organisations have sufficient protection against outside threats to their network, such as hacking and viruses, however the main threat to an organisation goes unprotected. The employees pose the greatest risk to a company -some have access to intellectual property, confidential and sensitive information and network resources".

"System Information Security regains control over an organisation's computer usage and the in-depth policy creation tool enables the company to set customised policies to ensure compliance standards are met. In the event of misuse being detected this solution will alert and react if necessary; for instance, disabling the USB port should an employee be copying a confidential file. This solution is fully customisable so you can be as stringent or as relaxed as you like. Should the alert be critical, this solution can even forensically capture and copy the suspect's machine so that the misuse can be documented and used as evidence in an employee tribunal or even a Court of Law."

MD5 are encouraged by the positive response this unique security solution has received and look forward to discussing with you how SIS can protect your enterprise; call today for further information.
